Create a basic group and add members using Azure Active Directory

 

Ø Sign in to the Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com/). using your Azure account credentials.

ØNavigate to Azure Active Directory: In the Azure portal, search for "Azure Active Directory" and select it from the search results.

Ø In the Azure Active Directory pane, click on "Groups".

Ø Now for creating new group In the Azure Active Directory pane, select "Groups" from the left-hand menu and click the "+ New group" button at the top. Choose a group type (such as "Security" or "Office") and enter a group name and description. Click "Create" to create the new group.

Ø  In the "New group" pane, select the "Group type" that best suits your needs (e.g. "Security", "Office", or "Distribution"). You can provide your group a name and description. Under "Membership type", select "Assigned" if you want to manually manage membership or "Dynamic" if you want to use rules to automatically manage membership.

Ø  Now to Add members to the group, once you have created the group, select it from the list of groups in the Azure Active Directory pane. Click on the "Members" tab and then click the "+ Add members" button. Enter the email addresses or names of the users you want to add to the group, and then click "Select" to add them.

Ø To Assign group owners: By default, the user who creates a group becomes its owner. However, you can add additional owners if needed. To do so, click on the "Owners" tab and then click the "+ Add owners" button. Enter the email addresses or names of the users you want to add as owners, and then click "Select" to add them.

Ø  Save your changes: After you have added members and owners to the group, click "Save" to save your changes.

That's it! You have now created a basic group and added members using Azure Active Directory. Keep in mind that there are many other features and settings you can configure for groups in Azure AD, such as group membership rules, group expiration policies, and group-based access control.
